Seattle’s Best Coffee

May 20th, 2010

As you know, I’m rather fond of the odd cup of coffee! Saw this re-brand of Seattle’s Best Coffee this morning over at Brand New HERE. It’s certainly a bold change but personally I’ve yet to make my mind up on it. Perhaps it’s just sour grapes because I would have loved to work on this one but hey ho! You can check out the launch video HERE – I particularly enjoyed the cheeky sticker placements considering they are owned by Starbucks.

Talking The Same Language

February 24th, 2010

For those of you who love the detail of brands, their guidelines and the work that goes into delivering a consistent visual language, this article HERE from Creative Review is a must read. They give an overview of the “new ‘global visual language’ for the BBC’s online activities by Research Studios is set to be rolled out over the next few months… The project, won by the studio in August last year, apparently stems from an intention to unify cross-platform concepts – over both bbc.co.uk and bbc.com – and consolidate all design elements, such as typography, colour palette and iconography, into a style guide for the organisation.”

Moving Forward With Stationery

June 16th, 2009

Graphic Exchange have recently uploaded some new additions to their ‘Idenity’ section. I was realy impressed byt the quality and innovative approaches to stationery ranges in particular. This is often such an overlooked and undervalued are of design and yet in a lot of cases it can be the first impression a client gets of your brand. Check it out HERE.

Brand You

November 10th, 2008

I’ve seen this in a few places over the last few months and every time it makes me smile. I’ve been involved in branding exercises and often in the creation brand guideline documents that help ensure the brand is handled in a consistent way and not diluted over time. But what if you had to write a set of guidelines for your own identity? That’s exactly what Christopher Doyle of Moon Group Sydney did this year. The result is not only witty but really well executed it also makes me realise how much my ’supposedly original’ black glasses conform to a stereotype! You can find the full version here available for download.
