I can’t help but notice Portland is becoming a serious creative city. Over the last few months more and more of my blog posts featuring designers or illustrators are Portland based or have recently moved there to be a part of the creative explosion.
I found this designer’s work through Etsy and loved it so much I bought one of her pieces for Michelle’s birthday.
“Emily Ryan’s is an independent designer located in Portland, Oregon. She has been designing custom and retail pieces since 2001, and has participated in many fashion shows over the years. Currently, Emily produces two small collections per year as well as custom one-of-a-kind pieces.
She loves modern sculptural designs that explore texture and shape, as well as artistic, comfortable, and cozy designs. Emily is continually inspired by 1920’s couture, science fiction, and Japanese fashions. Everything is made in house by her and her lovely interns.”
