Work & Experience

September 23rd, 2009

I really enjoyed reading this interview with Swedish designer, Peter Sunna. He has worked with Wolff Olins in New York, JDK Design in both Burlington, VT, and New York, Amp Associates, and Form in London. Recently he has set up on his own, you can read the interview over at ComputerLove and view some further examples of his work HERE.

HERE is a really useful collection of articles, tutorials and other resources covering most aspects of life as a freelancer. I’ve found a few of these to be genuinely helpful, one in particular this morning, but well worth checking out or bookmarking.

Any Excuse For A Coffee…

November 5th, 2008

Starting out as a freelancer or one-man-band design agency can be quite a lonely experience. One of the greatest aspects of working within a team or large agency environment is the ability to get instant feedback and critique from those around you as well as all the social benefits of course.

It’s with this problem in mind that I’ve set up ‘Show & Tell’. Show & Tell will be a series of regular events aimed at creative people who usually work on their own, either from home or a small office. It’s a chance to recieve support, feedback and interaction with others in a similar situation. It will also be a forum for discussion, networking and of course drinking coffee.

So far we have freelance designers, writers and artists signed up to attend and I’m really looking forward to the first one in December. If you would like to know more please feel free to contact me by email or find ‘Show & Tell’ on facebook.
