The Index Ltd

May 24th, 2010

According to their website, “The INDEX is an evolving catalogue of materials and articles, some unique and some ordinary, but all exceptional in their purpose, character and origin.” As far as I’m concerned it’s just one more reason that I should be living and working in Brooklyn! You can view their fantastic collection of quirky industrial artifacts HERE. Now all I need is a few plane tickets and an amazing apartment/studio to fit it all in.

Rewrite

November 2nd, 2009

On Monday’s I’m excited to get started on the week’s workload. Some weeks there is a lot to get done, this week is certainly one of those. I found this desk that is just the ticket for focussed working. “Copenhagen designers GamFratesi have designed a prototype desk with a cave-like shield on top to create an intimate working environment called Rewrite”. Found via Kanye West’s blog you can view more images HERE.

Dad, Jono… This One’s For You

March 4th, 2009

My Dad, brother and I all seem to be obsessed with all things unique, antique, vintage, salvaged and restored. In fact both my brother and Dad have been on a mission to find a restored typewriter and thanks to ‘Three Potatoe Four’ I think we can call off the search! You can view their home decor range HERE finding anything from old golf hole flags, church organ pipes and signage lettering!

Shopping & DIY? Must Be January.

January 5th, 2009

Another site recommended to me from my sister, Pedlars is great for finding odd, interesting and good qulaity products of all kinds. I was spoiled for choice in terms of imagery for this post so it’s well worth checking out for any of you still with the January sales/DIY bug – these wall stickers are particular nice!

Child Friendly v Designer Friendly

October 27th, 2008

Having battled with this one myself recently, it’s great to see that it is possible to create a living space that caters to both kids and the creative in you with great success. Tina Roth aka ‘Swiss Miss‘ is the creator of my favourite design blog and Design Sponge recently showed a sneak peak inside her New York apartment.
