The Organic Type

February 3rd, 2010

Thanks to Hannah Reid for the heads up on this one. A great collection of pencil drawn typography that is supplied as high res transparent Photoshop files that can quickly and easily be dropped into your designs. Whilst nothing replaces the authenticity and charm of actually picking up a pencil yourself this is still a really valuable and time-saving resource. You can view the SketchType collection HERE.

UI Stencils

January 15th, 2010

I’m loving these stencils from UI Stencils. Available for both iPhone and Web development and with matching sketch pads too! I can imagine the iPhone one being really useful as storyboarding iPhone apps is still a relatively new discipline. You can find them HERE.

The Plot

January 30th, 2009

Design agency, Airside, have published an interesting couple of articles of their blog. They provide an insight into their design process for their recent project ‘Airplot’ for Greenpeace. I love seeing other designers skethwork and thought processes but what I really love is the aviodance of using the computer and the fact that they have a ‘make & do’ room! You can read about the ideas process HERE and the rollout of the design HERE.

Inside The Sketchbook

January 6th, 2009

James Jean has recently published over 150 images from last year’s sketchbooks. I’m seriosly blown away by the qulaity, quantity and character of his drawings. It’s really clear that he has invested a lot of time and value in these books and I feel very much inspired to take my journal and pencil with me at all times – including airport waiting lounges by the looks of it!

Terrible Name, Great Product

December 9th, 2008

As many of my friends know, I’m a huge advocate of the man bag! This is my latest addition to the Christmas wish list. Made from a substance “second only to diamond on the hardness scale and resists scratches and abrasion far better than conventional plastics” it is functional and a gorgeous to look at. The only downside is the name; BRIEFC(eramic)ACE! You can find out more here, on Alexandros Stasinopoulos’ website.
